Genuine Free Range Eggs
If you want real free range eggs, you've come to the right place.
The Free Range Farmers Association Inc. is a not-for-profit group of commercial egg farmers operating in the Australian State of Victoria. All members meet our published Standards and demonstrate that it is not necessary to mutilate the beaks of hens (Debeaking or beak trimming) or confine egg laying hens in cages, barns or aviaries.
This Association is the Victorian accrediting affiliate to the National Free Range Egg and Poultry Association of Australia Inc.
Always looks for the FRFA logo to be sure you are buying eggs from one of our accredited farms. Members sell direct to customers at Farmers' Markets as well as through retail outlets and commercial sales to restaurants. Currently member farms sell at Farmers' Markets at Abbotsford Convent, Collingwood Childrens Farm, Fairfield, Flemington, Coal Creek (Korumburra), Inverloch, Churchill Island, Koonwarra, Casey/Berwick (The Old Cheese Factory), Pakenham, Spotswood, North Melbourne, Caulfield, Kingston, Mulgrave, Boroondara and Gasworks.
Take care with your purchases as there may be other egg
sellers at those markets who are not accredited by FRFA.

TO BE SURE THAT THE EGGS YOU BUY REALLY ARE FREE RANGE
Essential features for Accreditation by this Association are:-
1. It is not necessary or permitted for hens to be de-beaked, beak trimmed or in any other way mutilated.
2. Hens are free to range, forage and dust bathe in a predator protected and sustainable vegetated farm environment during daylight hours.
3. Hens are protected from inclement weather with shedding which provides night time shelter, perches, feed, water and secluded comfortable egg layer boxes.
4. No other form of egg production (no aviary, barn or cage) is permitted on member farms.
5. No eggs of a non-Association accredited origin are allowed to be stored and packaged on the accredited farm. Farms must be able to show audit trail records for accredited eggs exchanged between its members.
6. FRFA Inc. Vic Membership with accredition is available to any Victorian egg farmer who is prepared to present for an inspection to the published Standards.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate to the independent third party inspector that they practice genuine extensive Free Range Poultry farming to the highest standards of animal welfare, land sustainability and food integrity.
